Faith and Action Together
Europe maybe be part of the western world but it still has great poverty both financially, materially and also spiritually.
Here in Spain with the EU now as large and diverse in nationalities as in the past, we are hearing more languages spoken in the streets and seeing new issues and more poverty amongst the foreigners as well as the Spanish themselves.
A large problem is the amount of 'street girls' widely on show along main roads plying the sex trade. The majority of these women from eastern europe left their country in search of work and money to send back to their families. They have ended up in the human trafficking chain. Poverty is also very high amongst South Americans living here who are unable to get official work papers and become destitute. I have noticed a huge difference in these areas in the -6years I have lived in Spain. We also have a dramatic increase in domestic violence and alcoholism behind closed doors and in isolation and it is a growing problem within the 'ex-pat' community. The needy are not only in Africa or Asia........
Money is needed by the King's Church to carry out these social projects, to rent/buy a safe home for those women who want to leave prostitution.
